HOW to decide on transfer printing?

Transfer printing should be your choice

  1. When you want to have your motive ready for whenever your customers demand it, without risking too many already printed pieces of expensive apparel stuck in your stock. In this case we will print your motive on a transfer paper and deliver it in a neatly cut pile, so that you will be able to heat press it onto the garment of your customers’ liking and in the actual demanded number.
  2. When the garment you want to print onto is, for various reasons, too complicated for direct printing. Mostly this relates to sweatshirts, polo shirts, shirts, caps, wind jackets, bags, umbrellas, and similar types of garment where either the material or the motive positioning require special care.

Quality

With our ¾ automatic screenprinted transfer line ATMA we are able to print even very fine lines and multicolored motives.
The main difference to direct screen printing is that due to the heat pressing process the motive creates a solid layer on the garment, which may work great with some motives and less with others.

Minimum volume

Transfer printing requires the same intensive preparation procedures as direct screen printing and so it is good to spread the costs into a larger volume. The minimum is usually set to 30 prints from one motive.

HOW long does it take?

Our transfer shop is very busy throughout the whole year, but we usually manage to keep the delivery time as short as 1-3 weeks.

It is however necessary to discuss the exact delivery terms with our sales team.

max. print area for different print variants

Please always consult with our sales team whether the motive positioning and printing is technically feasible, and whether the intended motive size fits the chosen garment type. With specific kinds of material we may require 1 or more pieces for sampling.

It is necessary to mention that even though we do our best to avoid it there is always a certain risk of spoilage. Generally tolerated spoilage level is about 1%. Therefore, when printing on customer's own apparel, we recommend setting the garment volume so as to make sure such case does not affect the integrity of the order.
